A relative newcomer to health system leadership, the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) is becoming a critical leader in the transition to value based health and healthcare.
Initially focused on the electronic health record, the next generation CMIO (CMIO 2.0) is leading development of clinical informatics and analytics strategies, integrating fragmented informatics resources across the organization, and driving value from the organization’s investment in people, process, information, technology and change.
CMIO Advisors provides health informatics thought leaders to the industry through our partnership with AMDIS and well-known CMIOs around the country.
Specific services include:
- AMDIS Speakers Bureau: Need a thought leading speaker to address your next association, board meeting, client conference or other healthcare meeting? Through the AMDIS Speakers Bureau we help identify, organize and provide leading CMIOs and other Informatics thought leaders for your event. We will customize the topics and messages based on your environment, specific interests and emerging trends.
- CMIO Coaching Programs: Designed to help CMIOs new to their roles, or CMIOs hoping to take their efforts to the next level. Leading CMIOs customize specific coaching programs that include annual planning assistance, telephone calls, and CMIO education and networking activities.
- CMIO Education Events: Launched in 2009, the AMDIS Crash Course has become an all-time favorite of new CMIOs and Health Informatics leaders who want to take their role to the next level. By focusing on the Hot Topics of the day, the sessions held annually at Ojai and regionally in different parts of the country, focus on topics selected by the participants. Group discussion and problem solving helps each person resolve specific challenges and take advantage of the advice of seasoned, industry leading CMIOs and peers from other organizations.
- CMIO Leadership Diagnostic: A two-day onsite organizational and operational assessment of the role of the CMIO, the informatics function, the role of the CMIO and other informatics and analytics professionals. The assessment helps the CMIO and other organizational leaders compare the role of the CMIO at your organization with emerging practices and understand key benchmarks and success criteria. At the conclusion of the two-day evaluation, we provide recommendations regarding the impact of the CMIO and organizational readiness to move to the next generation of informatics.
